MetaTrader 5

The MT5 trading journal that keeps up with your trades

Action Journal connects to your MetaTrader 5 account, brings your closed trades into one place, and gives every trade a place for the reason behind it. No spreadsheets, no copy-paste, no desktop required.

Connect in minutes

Choose your broker and server, then enter your account number and investor password. Action Journal reads your history; it never places trades.

Sync that fits your plan

Automatic sync on Basic and Plus, or manual sync up to three times a day on the Free trial.

The whole account in view

Balance, equity, margin, drawdown, open positions, and closed trades sit beside the notes that explain them.

Why keep a journal instead of using your broker history?

Your broker can tell you what happened: the symbol, the size, the entry and the exit. It cannot tell you why you took the trade, what you saw at the time, or how you felt when the position moved against you. That context is what turns a list of results into something you can learn from.

Action Journal keeps the numbers and the reasoning together. The trade comes in from MT5; the lesson comes from you.

How to connect an MT5 account

  1. Open the app and choose Connect Account, then MetaTrader 5.
  2. Search for your broker and pick the server your account runs on.
  3. Enter your MT5 account number and your investor password.
  4. Choose manual or automatic sync, depending on your plan, and let the first import finish.

What gets recorded

  • Closed trades, including symbol, direction, size, and profit or loss.
  • Net performance, win rate, profit factor, average win and loss, and maximum drawdown.
  • Performance by instrument and by trading session: Asia, London, and New York.
  • Your own notes, strategy label, emotion, and a 1 to 5 trade rating.
  • Chart screenshots on the Plus plan.

Built for prop firm accounts too

Most prop firms run on MT5, so a funded or evaluation account connects the same way as a personal account. You can keep several accounts side by side and see each one on its own, or compare them in one view. The Free trial includes one account; Basic includes three; Plus includes ten.

Questions and answers

Does Action Journal place trades on my MT5 account?

No. The connection uses your read-only investor password, so Action Journal can read your trading history but cannot open, close or modify positions.

Which brokers are supported?

Any broker whose MetaTrader 5 server appears in the in-app broker registry. Deriv MT5 accounts are supported as well. Support for more platforms is in progress.

Does it work with prop firm accounts?

Yes, as long as the prop firm account runs on MetaTrader 5 and the firm allows read-only investor access. Account limits depend on your plan.

How much history is imported?

The app imports closed trades inside your plan history window: 7 days on the Free trial, 30 days on Basic, and 60 days on Plus.

Is there a free plan?

The Free plan is a 7-day trial with one account and manual sync. After the trial, Basic starts at $7.99 per month and Plus at $16.99 per month.
